it's good tactics game. definitely worth it on sale. gameplay= slowly recon & eliminate low hp units (and grab the occasional pickups), then pick good crossfire positions to assault groups of heavies. unlockable augments add some fun options.

I'm giving this a thumbs up because the ambush-centric combat is as fun as it was in Mutant Year Zero and Miasma Chronicles, the graphics are very nice, and the gritty atmosphere is right up my alley. That being said, you should only buy this if you're a big fan of turn-based tactical games and you've already finished the XCOM games, Mutant Year Zero, Miasma Chronicles, 40k: Chaos Gate: Daemonhunters, Gears Tactics, Showgunners, etc., and you're really itching for a similar game to play. Unfortunately, CORRUPTION 2029 barely has any content in it. It feels unfinished. I'm 8 hours in, and the entire game consists of the same handful of maps that you have to replay over and over again. Enemy placements mostly stay the same, as do the placements of points of interests, turrets, distractions, and other features you can interact with during the mission. The new enemies and weapons/abilities being introduced don't do enough to offset this problem. I can accept that the budget didn't allow for more maps, but why not at least have different enemy placements and patrol routes from mission to mission? How about a mission where you have to deal with a large number of weak enemies, or one where all of the enemies have complex patrol patterns that make avoiding combat really hard? Or one where the enemies have set up explosives all over the place? I'm not a dev myself, but doing something like this doesn't seem so complicated and it certainly wouldn't cost a lot more since they've already built all the mechanics and assets. The game just gets so repetitive after a few hours. I'm currently at the end of the 2nd chapter, and I really hope things will shake up. I want to like this game but I can see myself changing the review to a thumbs down if the rest of the game stays like this. EDIT: The final act shakes things up a bit, but not much. Story becomes seriously cringe. I had fun with this game, but I would only recommend it to diehard fans of turn based combat games.

I really want to like this game. I really do. I'm glad it was on sale cheap. I'll give it a thumbs up, because it isn't a bad game just not something I like. The graphics and sound track are great. Much better than a lot of the top rated games. The control system is...different. You have an isometric view, but the angle is very low which adds to the suspense and challenge of the game. Takes some getting used to unlike something like JA3. The story line...I couldn't get into the game enough to learn the story in depth. It does have a good start. The balance doesn't seem to be there even on the easy setting I used after twice trying the normal setting. The enemy weapon range seems to be much longer than yours. They can shoot you, but you can't shoot them. I wanted to switch to turn-based (ambush), but the game only lets you switch when the game wants you to. A single shot, silenced weapon is only good for the trash bin unless it is a one-shot kill otherwise, you are faced with reloading-move, move-reload or reload-shoot; Can't move and shoot. Over all, 5 out of 10 as much as I want to give it a higher rating.
